and the winner is...

Number 3...Becky Sorensen!!!

Becky entered our One World One Heart contest on January 24th along with 129 other bloggers in hopes to win a custom zuzu girl handmade dreamcatcher. She was chosen by a random number generator this morning but it just so happens that three is my favorite number. Wild.

Becky writes a blog called Becky's crafts which you can find HERE.

Thank you so much to everyone that took time to visit my blog and to the 129 that loved our dream catchers enough to enter. We were overwhelmed by the response. And thanks to Lisa for sponsoring One World One Heart 2009. It was so much fun visiting the over 900 blogs that participated. Wow. What an awesome event.

let's eat cake!

Thanks to Thoughtfully Simple for the fine words you are about to read & to Hostess Tori for sharing this opportunity with me via Twitter today.

zuzu girl handmade is glad to be Blogging it forward!

Let’s Eat Cake, an amazing fundraiser hosted by the equally amazing Melissa Margarita-DiStefano, is coming up quick: Tuesday, February 17th at the Plaza Paramount Hotel! Let’s Eat Cake is a cake decorating competition with all proceeds going to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Learn more about the fundraiser right here.

In an effort to make sure we get the word out to everyone (and raise money), we are starting this chain-blog (Ok, not sure if that is correct terminology. But it’s like a chain letter so let’s just go with it, shall we?)

Here’s what we need you to do…Repost this post (or create your own new version) on your blog and ask others to post it on their blogs. Melissa will donate one dollar to the fundraiser for EVERY BLOG that posts on Let’s Eat Cake this week! With the power of the blogosphere, that can QUICKLY add up! Let’s make Melissa Pay! Once you have reposted it, leave a comment letting us know that you posted it along with the url to the blog. It’s for a great cause and it will be fun to see how far it will go! So lets do it… Lets blog it forward and raise money for a great cause!!!

i need your help!

I'm a Virgo. I like things to be very well organized so much so that I change my mind rapidly and frequently.

In March I started a blog for my family called and the beat goes on.... I try to blog there daily about what's going on in our home. Personal stuff. Pictures of the kids, random stories and whatever occurs to me.

In July, I needed somewhere to exercise my creative juices (and my shopping addiction) so I started a new blog called it's beautiful here. This was a fun blog that I spent lots of time on...posting about my latest shopping experiences & retail finds. But, it took less than three months for me to realize that it was too hard to keep up both blogs and keep them differentiated enough so I went back to one.

Then, in October, I opened zuzu girl handmade on etsy...and what's a new retail company without a blog? Yup, you got it. I started my third blog. Well, really my second since I had just retired one. You follow?

Where am I going with this you may ask sleepily? Well, I'm second guessing the two blogs again. I mean, I do believe that zuzu girl handmade needs some love but is it boring? Is it more fun to hop on over to and the beat goes on... and hear stories about my two year old cursing or are you good with a craft/retail only blog? Is my family life too personal to share with the general public or does it make zuzu girl handmade more endearing?

Inquiring minds want to know.

How do you blog? What do you like to read? And why are you still here reading this???

momdot (dot com)

Yup. The zuzu girl handmade blog has been approved too. And I went right back and copy and pasted the seal to prove it. Have no idea what I'm talking about? Didn't read my post on and the beat goes on... last night? From the ladies themselves...

MomDot is a mom blog listing site that is run by mommy bloggers, Trisha, Alicia, and Bridgette. They run contests weekly, reviews on awesome (and not so awesome) products for family and kids, and talk about their lives. But more importantly, they feature bloggers and mom boutiques to give them an avenue to get their names out there, also assisting in google links! You can head out and list your blog for free and talk to them about doing an interview about you. Head on over and see what MomDot is about!

You can find zuzu girl handmade in the boutique blogs category or by clicking here and scrolling towards the bottom of the page.
